What is SOUL-A Coaching?

SOUL-A Coaching is an approach to coaching that comes from my years of experience and training in this work. Essentially, it is a hybrid of wellness, whole health, life, and holistic coaching based upon the core competencies as defined by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Having coached thousands of people around healthy behavior changes in the topic areas of wellness and life goals, my coaching practice has evolved to be an evidence-based, holistic approach.  Practices and skills used in my approach may utilize but are not limited to the following disciplines, in addition to some influential concepts:

How often are sessions?

There is not a one-size-fits all method or program to this work. Many clients find it helpful in the beginning of our work to have sessions 1-2 weeks apart, until they are feeling more confident and have some momentum to work on implementing goals on their own for longer periods of time. That being said, depending on the goals, there is wiggle room for spacing sessions out in the beginning. Once some shifts have taken place and there is traction in the change process, some clients then decide to spread the sessions farther apart, up to 4 weeks or one month (maintenance). Bottom line, we will figure it out together as we go what serves the process best in terms of timing for sessions and scheduling.

What if the cost of coaching is not affordable at this time?

Working with a coach is an investment into your future. Considering that coaching work impacts all areas of your life and has the potential to greatly improve all aspects of your health, some might say that it is priceless. However, as a conscious and purpose-driven social entrepreneur, I desire to be able to offer such services to those who may not be able to typically afford them. I am committed to offering limited ‘pay what you can’ sessions and packages several times a year, or 2-1 deals where for every 2 sessions booked and paid for in advance I will offer one free coaching session to someone from the low-income, underserved community who could benefit from Whole Health & Soul Coaching.

Is coaching similar to mental health therapy?

“If I got paid every time a person said I should be a psychologist, mental health therapist, or relationship counselor, well, I would have a lot more money.” Seriously. However, I don’t want to be a therapist for several reasons but mostly because talk therapy alone never seemed to produce the long lasting rapid changes I felt were possible for a lot of people (without mental health illness). Now certainly there is a place for psychology and talk therapy, but when it comes to behavior change there are some powerful tools we all have within ourselves and coaching can help guide a person in accessing them.


Learning to stay close to our Soul is an organic process, full of missteps along the way.*
